A Day In The Life of A Really Famous Ballet Dancer

This video is about A Day In The Life of Sergei Polunin. Said to be the next Baryshnikov or Nureyev, or maybe even surpass them, the young Ukrainian ballet dancer has taken the world by storm. A whirlwind, exotic lifestyle you might think? Well, no matter how famous, the life of a ballet dancer is hard work, commitment, and repetition, repetition, repetition… every day. This is probably more like a day in Sergei Polunin’s life than some fans might imagine…

Sergei Polunin Promotes Peace, Love, and Acceptance in The New Diesel Ad Campaign “Higher Love”

This is a film by David LaChapelle.  It was created for Diesel’s latest advertising campaign.  It features the phenomenal Ukrainian ballet star, Sergei Polunin.  He reached internet superstar status previously when his performance in Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” video went viral with over 18 million hits.

I intend no copyright infringements whatsoever.  I make no claims on the images you see or the music that you hear.  I claim no ownership.

While visually stunning, it is the beautiful message imparted by this video that needs to reach as many people across the globe as possible.  The world NEEDS this RIGHT NOW.

For “Miss Mary Alice”

This video is about Ingram School of Dance. It was established in Orange, Texas in 1933 by Mary Alice Ingram Callahan. That is where the name comes from. It is currently owned and run by me, Pam Boehme Simon.
I am very proud of the heritage of my dance studio. Countless children and many generations have danced here and continue to do so. The photos in this video are all vintage Ingram School of Dance pictures taken in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
The three sepia toned pics (one at the beginning, middle, and end) are “Miss Mary Alice” herself. She left us in 2008 and I will miss her forever. This is a tribute to her and her studio, which it is my honor to continue running in a way that hopefully would make her proud.
If you are an “old” Ingram student, please COMMENT and SHARE. I’d love to see how many of you we can touch.

What Can Ballet Do For A Kid? Just Watch!

Avery is 11 years old and Joziah is 12.  Both are self-confident, cordial, calm and collected far beyond their years.  They are well-spoken and polite.  Yeah, I’m sure they each have great parents guiding them along the way, but they also have another influence that has proven remarkable in building up a child in the way he or she should go.

The art of ballet, besides the apparent gifts, also instills in children a sense of discipline, respect, and a work ethic second to none.  Just watch as these two appeared on Steve Harvey’s “Little Big Shots.”  He, who has seen umpteen million kids, was impressed by Avery and Joziah… and that was before they ever danced.
